Seven years ago by simply waking up one morning my entire life unintentionally changed religiously and politically. I had my first cup of coffee. And saw people very differently. We are all literally no more than 1/8 cousins. We all struggle known in ways only to ourselves. Before we judge on religious, political or other terms let’s try to “hear what they hear. Feel what they feel.”

1. Ask if there is anything you can do for them

A favour, a selfless favour that eliminates all doubt over your willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty for the person in question.

2. Pick out something you have long admired about that person but never actually vocalised to them – either through lack of chance or purely because like me, you prefer to keep everyone at your own, low level of being.

3. Send a handwritten letter. This simple gesture never goes out of style. A card or letter lasts long.

4. Leave a note in your significant other’s shoes.
